Tuition Information

Program Cost Per Credit Total Credits Total Tuition
Doctor of Education $813 48 $39,024

The cost per credit reflects tuition and fees per credit hour. You can see a full breakdown of these fees on our Texas Wesleyan tuition cost page. Tuition and fees are subject to change.

While this estimate does not include books and other expenditures, we strive to keep textbook and extra costs to a minimum. Students can buy textbooks from the retailer of their choice, but we recommend using the Texas Wesleyan bookstore where possible.

Tuition estimates are for planning purposes and may vary; students should confirm with Texas Wesleyan’s cashier’s office.

Financing Your Degree

Most students combine multiple funding sources that fit their financial situation. Our financial aid team can help you identify the combination that works best for you.

Students in the School of Education may access financial support through federal and private loan options. Visit the main Texas Wesleyan University scholarships & aid page to learn more about available federal and private loan programs.

Please note: External scholarship funding may impact the amount of loan money that can be borrowed. Please notify Texas Wesleyan’s Office of Financial Aid of any external awards you receive.

FAFSA

Effective July 1, 2026, the national Grad PLUS Loan Program will end for new borrowers. Existing borrowers who received a Grad PLUS Loan prior to this date for their current graduate program can continue borrowing for up to three additional years or until their program concludes (whichever comes first). For more information, visit our financial aid page.

To apply for federal financial aid, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the appropriate deadline using the Texas Wesleyan school code: 003645. Students must reapply for federal financial aid each academic year.

Visit the Office of Financial Aid website for details about eligibility criteria, application steps and deadlines.

Overview of Billing Schedule

Important Payment Due Dates

Prior to the term start date, you must have met one of the following criteria:

  • Have enough pending financial aid to cover outstanding charges
  • Have paid your balance in full
  • Be enrolled in an official payment plan

If you have not satisfied one of the above criteria you will be dropped from your courses for non-payment.

Please note that payment for the term is due prior to the actual class start date.

Payment Plan

Payment plans let you spread your educational costs across the semester rather than paying in one lump sum, helping you budget more effectively. Plans are easy to sign up for, requiring only a $35 enrollment fee.

You can choose from two due dates each month, and your plan will automatically adjust if your balance changes due to course changes or updated financial aid. Payment plans are available for graduate students enrolled in traditional semester-long or mini-term classes, including 7-week sessions.

Enrollment is time sensitive, so be sure to sign up before the deadline. To get started, log in to Ramlink and select Set-up Student Account Payment Plans, or view our step-by-step guide for detailed instructions.

For more information on payment plans, please reference our Cashier’s Office website.

Guidance for University Employees

All full-time, regular employees of the University, their spouses and dependent children (per IRS guidelines) are eligible for a tuition waiver.

Eligibility for the employee tuition waiver benefit begins the semester following the first day of employment for both the employee and their eligible family members.

For more information including eligibility requirements, please review the Educational Assistance/Tuition Waiver Policy or visit our website for more details.
